The carpet came wrapped three times in heavy plastic. It was very well protected against dirt or stain during shipment. I've had other carpets be delivered dirty. The quality is good and I really like that I can reverse it if needed. No stain protectant. Dirt from shoes could not be removed even from vacuum. Recommended cleaning is with dry cleaning liquid which I haven't tried yet. I recommend a good quality stain protectant be applied.
